our history
2001 | A foundation stone in Spain
It all began in the early 2000s, when the Group laid the foundation stone in Sitges, Spain: Meating Iberica was established, although it was known as Foodex 2002 until 2010. Its core business was already well established, supplying poultry to African markets and to manufacturers and wholesalers across the Iberian Peninsula.
2004 | Founding of Meating France
Originally known as Meat’ing SARL until 2010, Meating France complements the operations of its parent company, focusing in particular on Western Europe’s industrial markets for poultry and pork cuts.
2012 | Launch of Meating UK
In partnership with specialists in the UK market, Meating UK has been established to expand our operations by gaining access to a supply of British poultry.
2019 | Integration of Comalis
This new addition to the group brings two new areas of business: the French cured meat market, through the supply of fresh pork cuts, and distributors and wholesalers in overseas territories, through the consolidation of containers of frozen products “from starters to desserts”.
2023 | A subsidiary for Meating UK
Following Brexit, Meating Food Group has established a subsidiary, Meating Continental, within the European Union on behalf of Meating UK, to manage all its intra-EU trade flows.
2024 | Meating Food Group welcomes Carneo
Our new recruit specialises in fresh meat for supermarkets and hypermarkets, as well as the catering sector.
Today, our Group comprises six companies and over thirty employees of various nationalities. It is a rewarding and people-focused journey that continues to unfold alongside our clients, suppliers and partners!
